by my junior year something happened. it might have been a gradual epiphany of sorts. I went to my first Ecaasu, I wanted to become a slam poet, take on the asian american cause, learned more about the denny's incident, started writing for aline. i rekindled the flame for my ASian American fire that i lost upon coming to college. Maya Lin came to speak, Bao Phi came to spit lines that made me angry and proud, tschiko mori came to speak, kevin so, the awesome stage people from cali. All these events had an effect on me. IF it wasn't for the hard working people of asia and the school of architecture, I wouldn't have become the person i am now. So to give back to the SU community despite my woes about it, I started writing for the DO, I became that Angry lil asian girl that won't shut up. Anyone who would listen would be told about our struggle to become a part of the constructive america. Things became hard because I felt alone. Alone in my anger and frustration. Alone with my racism and unresolved issues with white people. to this day, i have not resolved it. To this day, i'm still a reverse racist. To this day, white people still havent shown me a reason to change my views about the hundreds of years that they have discriminated and subjugated our people. what to do when sometimes, you just have to learn to let go, but you can't.

today i met this asian man

no, it wasnt love at first sight.

But it was surely love.

Because who wouldn't love an asian man with great morals?

an asian man who knows how to speak his mind eloquently that you cant help but drown in his words?

an asian man who is not afraid of his sexuality but openly talks about it.

an asian man who is humble as he is outspoken.

an asian man who dare defy the stereotypes placed on him by those who have no right to tell him what he must do.

an asian man who knows his enemies and has the guts to take them on.

not with guns, not with fists, not with anything else but his pen, his paper, and his mouth, from which beautiful words are spoken.

thank you for giving me hope again.

Life is worth living if you make a difference in the world. Who will care when you leave it?

discrepancies in points of view would be the root of the problem. relationships don't work out because people want different things. From the point of view of the girl, her man is an emotional and physical abuser. From the viewpoint of the guy, his girl needs to be slapped senseless into the type of girl he wants. when both parties realize that what each other wants is not the same as the other, they need to part and go their separate ways. there is no point in wasting each others time wishing for what can never be. maybe the cause of disrespect is in the misunderstanding?

lemme spit this out and see wut happens.

do men disrespect women because women disrespect themselves or do men disrespect women because men don't respect themselves?

the same goes for women.

do women disrespect men because men disrespect themselves or do women disrespect men because women don't respect themselves?

do you get different answers?
